For this project, Hamel had the unique opportunity of constructing a state of the art maintenance facility and automotive heavy equipment service center for the county of San Bernardino fleet of trucks. This ground up project was developed on 3.5 acres, and consists of a 23,643 square foot CMU building with tech-friendly offices, a fully loaded parts department, restrooms, locker rooms, and a comfortably flourished break room facility.
The interior has its own distinctive identity, as it includes vehicle lifts, pneumatic and electric overhead reels, tire changers and compressors, which is all kept secure with a Kantek card reader system for quick and easy entry into the building. The upgraded security features allow for a strongly protected premises for both the employees and vehicles inside. Along with the main structure, this job included on-site and offsite ROW improvements. The main utility improvements included a CMU site wall with decorative security, an above ground recycled wash down facility, asphalt improvements, and significant street improvements to the nearby curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.
